We were awarded 4 bid packages for the SDSU PAC. The first bid package was for the roof of the recital hall. The roof consisted of installing wood, glue-lam beams to create a ceiling with great acoustics that would accompany the pipe organ. We had 2 main curved beams that were 90’ long, 4’ tall, and 14” wide. Each of these beams weighed in at over 17,000 pounds. Each beam was attached to the pre-cast concrete panels on the ends, and then supported by 2 -14’ x14” columns that were over 20’ tall. Once the main beams were installed, we were able to start installing the sub-beams that were only 20” tall by 10” wide. Each sub-beam weighed between 2,000 – 4,000 pounds. Once all the beams were installed we installed 3” tongue and groved decking. On top of the decking, we installed 5/8” structural ratched sheathing to nailed 3” on center to hold everything together.

The second bid package awarded was for the rough carpentry which included installing all of the roof blocking, installing a 2×8 insulated sleeper system over the recital hall roof, and window blocking.

The third package was for finish carpentry. We were contracted to install the cabinets and countertops, door, wood clouds, windowsills, and hardware.

The last bid package that we were awarded was for Specialties. We supplied and installed toilet partitions, bathroom accessories, markerboards, corner guards, and fire extinguishers.
